Fabworks FAQ
Bending
How do you ensure the quality of the bent parts?
We make sure to perform checks at every stage of production to guarantee the final quality of the part.
Read MoreIs there a limit to thickness of sheet metal you can bend?
Our bending capabilities cover a range of sheet metal thicknesses. For specific thickness limits, please refer to our bending resources or contact our team for guidance.
Read MoreWhat bend radius is used for sheet metal parts?
We use a standard 1mm (0.039in) bend radius on parts under 0.16" thick and 4mm (0.15") for parts 0.16" and thicker.
Read MoreWhat is the range of bend angles you can provide?
We can provide bend angles from 0 to 135 degrees, anything sharper than this is not possible.
Read MoreWhat is the standard lead-time for bent laser cut parts?
Our sheet metal bending service typically adds 1 business day to the total project lead time for laser cut parts.
Read MoreWhat is the tolerance of sheet metal bends?
Angle tolerance of +/- 1 deg and a length tolerance of +/-.015 inches. Compound bends will have a larger tolerance of +/- .020 inches.
Read MoreWill my bent sheet metal parts show die marks?
Yes, there will be small score lines along the outer surface of your bent sheet metal parts.
Read MoreCountersinking
Are there limitations on the material thickness for countersinking?
We can perform countersinking on most thicknesses of metals.
Read MoreWhat is the standard lead-time for the Countersinking Service?
Parts with countersinks typically have 1 extra day added to the lead time. They shipping date provided during checkout is accurate and includes all extra services.
Read MoreWhat types of countersinks can you provide?
We offer a range of countersinking options, including different angles and diameters, to suit various hardware and design requirements.
Read MoreGeneral
Do you offer deburring?

Read MoreWhat design files do I need for Laser Cutting?
STEP file are the best file format to upload.
Read MoreWhat is the edge quality like on laser cut parts?
Edge quality on laser cut parts is generally excellent, with smooth and consistent finishes.
Read MoreWhat is the max cuttable size for laser cutting?
48" x 120" is the standard sheet size we stock, but we can cut sheets as large as 60" x 120" on our laser cutter.
Read MoreWhat is the standard lead-time for laser cut parts?
Laser cut parts from Fabworks typically have a standard lead time of 1-2 business days for simple orders.
Read MoreWhat is the tolerance of laser cut parts?
Laser cut parts typically have tolerances ranging from +/- 0.002 inches to +/- 0.005 inches, with tighter tolerances for smaller features and slightly wider tolerances for larger parts due to heat distortion during the cutting process.
Read MoreWill my laser cut parts come with burrs or tabs?
All parts are configured with deburring by default. However if you would like to opt out of deburring, you can do so in the quoting process. This will reduce the lead time of your parts.
